Has it not become clear to those who inherited the earth after its [previous] people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins? But We seal over their hearts so they do not hear. 100 We have told you the stories of those towns: their messengers came to them with clear signs, but they were never going to believe in something they had already rejected. Thus God seals up the hearts of those who deny the truth. 101 and in most of them We found no [inner] bond with anything that is right - and most of them We found to be iniquitous indeed. 102 Then we raised after them Musa with Our communications to Firon and his chiefs, but they disbelieved in them; consider then what was the end of the mischief makers. 103 Moses said, "Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the Universe, 104 I must only speak what is true about God. I have brought you miracles from your Lord; therefore, let the children of Israel go free". 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you should be of the truthful." 106 So he threw his rod, then lo! it was a clear serpent. 107 Then he uncovered his hand and it appeared sheer white to the onlookers. 108
