The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
