Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you seen the one who turned away 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
