The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He hath created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
