Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 As justification or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 for an appointed term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
