The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created the human being 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
