The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
