The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
