Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful." 19 Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, 20 "So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Pharaoh said: "And who is this Lord of the Universe?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 and he drew forth his hand - and lo! it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
