The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
