۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 saying, "Are our gods better or him?" -- they cite him only to challenge you: they are a contentious people -- 58 He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We would have [destroyed you (mankind) all, and] made angels to replace you on the earth. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol: 25, Page 89]. 60 He is certainly the sign of the Hour (of change). So have no doubt about it, and listen to me. This is the straight path. 61 Let not Satan misdirect you. He is your open enemy. 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? 66 On that Day even bosom friends shall become enemies to one another, all except the God-fearing. 67
