Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A throng of the ancients 39 and a multitude of the later people. 40 And those on the left hand: What of those on the left hand? 41 [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 neither cool, neither goodly; 44 Indeed they were among favours before this. 45 And they have been persisting in the heinous offence. 46 They used to say: “What! Once we are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, shall we still be raised to a new life from the dead? 47 “And also our forefathers?” 48 Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples 49 Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day." 50 Then you went astray, you that belied, 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 And thereon ye will drink of boiling water, 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital! 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Have you considered the seed? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 It was We who decreed death among you. We will not be surpassed 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 And assuredly ye have fully known the first production wherefore heed ye not? 62 Have you ever considered the seed which you cast upon the soil? 63 Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 "Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)" 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out; 71 Is it you who have brought into being the tree that serves as its fuel - or are We the cause of its coming into being? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
