Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning to mortals, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except those of the right hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 From the guilty. 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
