The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 And your garments do purify, 4 And banish all trepidation. 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 And [warn all men that] when the trumpet-call [of resurrection] is sounded, 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 and children living in his presence, 13 And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then looked he, 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 then turned back, and swelling-up with pride, 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are nineteen [angels]. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
