۞ Say to them, "I exhort you to do one thing: and that is to stand up before God in pairs, or singly, and then reflect. You will thus realize that your companion is not afflicted with madness. He is only a warner, warning you of an impending severe chastisement." 46 Say: Whatever reward I might have asked of you is yours. My reward is the affair of Allah only. He is Witness over all things. 47 Say, "My Lord speaks the Truth. He has the knowledge of the unseen". 48 Say thou: the truth is come, and falsehood shall neither originate nor be restored. 49 Say: If I err, I err only to my own loss, and if I am rightly guided it is because of that which my Lord hath revealed unto me. Lo! He is Hearer, Nigh. 50 And couldst thou see the time when they shall be terrified! Then there shall be no escaping, and they shall be laid hold of from a place quite nigh. 51 and will cry, "We do [now] believe in it!" But how can they [hope to] attain [to salvation] from so far away, 52 They had surely denied it before and aimed without seeing from so far away. 53 And a barrier is set between them and that which they desire, as it was done before with their like; they were in suspicious doubt' 54
