Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
