Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
