Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
