The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
