Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

By the heaven and the night-comer 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
