Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
