The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
