The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 on a great day 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 a written record, 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
