And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
