The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
