And assuredly unto the household of Fir'awn came the warning. 41 They cried lies to Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with the seizing of One mighty, omnipotent. 42 ARE, THEN, those of you who [now] deny the truth better than those others - or have you, perchance, [been promised] immunity in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom? 43 Or they say, “We shall all take revenge as a group.” 44 Anon will their multitude be vanquished, and they will turn the back. 45 Nay, but the Hour (of doom) is their appointed tryst, and the Hour will be more wretched and more bitter (than their earthly failure). 46 Surely the sinners are misguided and insane. 47 The day when they are dragged on their faces into the Fire: 'Taste now the touch of Sakar!' 48 Surely We have created everything according to a measure. 49 We command but once: Our will is done in the twinkling of an eye; 50 And (oft) in the past, have We destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition? 51 All things they do are (recorded) in the books; 52 And everything small and great is written down. 53 Indeed, the cautious shall live amid gardens and a river, 54 At the still centre in the proximity of the King all-powerful. 55
