And when Abraham said: 'My Lord, make this a land secure. Turn me and my children away from worshipping idols. 35 "O my Lord! they have indeed led astray many among mankind; He then who follows my (ways) is of me, and he that disobeys me,- but Thou art indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. 36 “O our Lord! I have settled some of my descendants in a valley having no cultivation, near Your Sacred House – O our Lord! So that they may keep the prayer established, therefore incline some hearts of men towards them, and provide them fruits to eat – perhaps they may be thankful.” 37 O our Lord! Surely Thou knowest what we hide and what we make public, and nothing in the earth nor any thing in heaven is hidden from Allah: 38 Praise be to Allah Who hath given me, in my old age, Ishmael and Isaac! Lo! my Lord is indeed the Hearer of Prayer. 39 Lord, grant that I may keep up the prayer, and so may my offspring. My Lord, accept my prayer. 40 Forgive me, Lord, and forgive my parents and all the believers on the Day of Reckoning." 41
