The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 weigh with an even balance 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
