Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
