Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
