The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And water gushing, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 and made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
