The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That "Go to Firaun - he has rebelled." 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
