Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
