Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
