The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sun and its heat and brightness, 1 And the moon as she follows in his wake, 2 Consider the day as it reveals the world, 3 and by the night when it draws a veil over it, 4 And by oath of the heaven and by oath of Him Who made it. 5 and the earth and all its expanse! 6 And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it 7 And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;- 8 prosperous is he who purified it, 9 and failed has he who seduces it. 10 The tribe of Thamud denied with rebellion. 11 Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety). 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 He has no fear of its sequel. 15
God the Almighty always says the truth.
