The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the racers, panting, 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful 6 And lo! he is a witness unto that; 7 And verily in the love of wealth he is vehement, 8 ۞ So does he not know? When those in the graves are raised, 9 And the hearts' contents shall be brought into the open? 10 Surely on that Day will their Lord be fully informed about them. 11
