Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
