Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In a lofty garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
