Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
