So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
