We answered the prayer of Noah who had prayed to Us before and saved him and his followers from the great disaster. 76 We helped him against his people who rejected Our revelations. They were surely a wicked people, so We drowned them all. 77 And David and Solomon they passed judgment upon the tilled land on which the people's sheep had strayed. We bore witness to their judgment, and 78 And We made Solomon to understand (the case); and unto each of them We gave judgment and knowledge. And we subdued the hills and the birds to hymn (His) praise along with David. We were the doers (thereof). 79 And We taught him the art of making coats of mail to shield you from each other's violence. Will you not be grateful even then? 80 And to Solomon the wind, strongly blowing, that ran at his command unto the land that We had blessed; and We had knowledge of everything; 81 And of the devils were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian. 82 ۞ And Job when he called to his Lord: 'Affliction has befallen me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful' 83 Then We heard his prayer and removed that adversity from which he suffered, and We gave him his household (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them, a mercy from Our store, and a remembrance for the worshippers; 84 And Ishmael, Idris, Dhul Kifl -- each was of the patient, 85 We admitted them to Our Mercy, for they were of the righteous. 86 And Dhul Nun -- when he went forth enraged and thought that We would have no power over him; then he called out in the darkness, 'There is no god but Thou. Glory be to Thee! I have done evil.' 87 We answered his prayer and saved him from his grief. Thus We save the faithful ones. 88 And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while you are the best of inheritors." 89 Then We heard his prayer, and bestowed upon him John, and adjusted his wife (to bear a child) for him. Lo! they used to vie one with the other in good deeds, and they cried unto Us in longing and in fear, and were submissive unto Us. 90 And also recall the woman who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and made her and her son a Sign to the whole world. 91 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord; so worship Me. 92 But men have torn their unity wide asunder, [forgetting that] unto Us they all are bound to return. 93
