Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
