Say (unto them, O Muhammad): I am only a warner, and there is no Allah save Allah, the One, the Absolute, 65 Lord of the heavens and earth and everything between them, the Almighty, the Most Forgiving." 66 Say: "That is a Message Supreme (above all),- 67 [how can] you turn away from it?" 68 [Say, O Muhammad:] "No knowledge would I have had of [what passed among] the host on high when they argued [against the creation of man,] 69 Naught is revealed to me save that I am a plain warner. 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed My spirit into him, prostrate yourselves before him." 72 Then the angels, all of them, prostrated themselves before Adam 73 but not Satan, who was too proud. He became one of those who deny the truth. 74 God said, "Satan, what prevented you from prostrating yourself to what I created with My own Hands? Were you overcome by arrogance, or are you of those who think [only] of themselves as exalted?" 75 He said, "I am better than him. You have created me from fire and him out of clay". 76 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 77 And verily My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Requital, 78 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 79 (God) said: "You have the respite 80 till the Appointed Day." 81 He said: Then, by Thy might, I surely will beguile them every one, 82 Save Thy single-minded slaves among them. 83 He (i.e. Allah) said: “This is the Truth -- and I only speak the Truth -- 84 That I will fill Hell with you [Iblis (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together." 85 Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender. 86 It is nothing but a reminder unto all beings, 87 And ye will come in time to know the truth thereof. 88
