Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Scripture which maketh plain, 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 Many a prophet had We sent to the earlier communities, 6 And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him. 7 Wherefore We destroyed peoples mightier than these in prowess; and there hath gone forth the example of the ancients. 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 He Who sent down water from the sky in a determined measure, and thereby We revived a dead land: likewise will you be raised up (from the earth) -- 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
