[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
