The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 who created all things and gave them due proportions, 2 Who measureth, then guideth; 3 And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture, 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 We shall make you to recite (the Quran), so you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) shall not forget (it), 6 Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden. 7 We shall ease you to follow the way of Ease. 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 Those who fear will understand. 10 but it will be ignored by the most unfortunate, 11 who will roast in the Great Fire, 12 wherein they will neither live nor die. 13 Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 No; but you prefer the present life, 16 Whereas the Hereafter is better and everlasting. 17 Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
