The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
God the Almighty always says the truth.
