Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 These are verses of the wise Book, 2 And a guidance and grace for those who do good, 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, 8 wherein they will live forever. It is the true promise of God. He is Majestic and All-wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
