The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And accepts the best, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
