In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 'Ain. Sin. Qaf. 2 So reveals to thee, and to those before thee, God, the All-mighty, the All-wise. 3 His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; He is the Most High, the All-Great. 4 Well-nigh the heavens might be rent in sunder from above them. And the angels hallow the praise of their lord and ask forgiveness for these on the earth. Lo! Verily Allah! He is the Forgiver, the Merciful! 5 And [as for] those who take protectors besides Him, God is watching them and you are not a guardian over them. 6 And thus did We reveal this Arabic Qur'an to you that you may warn the people of the Mother of Cities (to wit, Makkah) and those who dwell around it; and warn them of the Day of Gathering concerning which there is no doubt: whereon some will be in Paradise, and some in the Blazing Fire. 7 And if Allah had willed, He could have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) will have neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper. 8 Or have they taken to themselves guardians other than Him? But Allah, He is the Guardian. He revives the dead and has power over all things. 9
